Recently, I have been on the look out for a new make up organiser. Now, the easiest thing would have been to go into Muji and just get some from there,
however, I had read an article about Shark fin soup which is a Japanese 'delicacy'. It is estimated that 100 million Sharks are murdered a year purely for their fins, which don't add any flavour to the soup and their dead bodies are tossed back into the ocean. Due to the Shark's long gestation period combined with the sheer volume of the species that are being killed, this mean that in the 10 to 20 years the whole Shark population could be wiped out. I guess you are wondering, what the hell do Muji have to do with this? Well, Muji Japan widely sell Shark fin soup despite their claims of being a very eco-friendly company. This has seriously deterred me from setting foot in that shop, ever again. Recently, I have been trying to be more conscious about where and how my make-up, beauty and clothes are sourced/created. It's very easy for us in the world to forget where things come from or what companies do to make money.
Anywho, back to the storage, I found this storage set here, from EBay and it was £25 with free delivery and the delivery was so fast. I bought and payed for the item on Friday and had received it by Monday afternoon.
So on the top there are compartments for all of my make up brushes and I have put some of my bb creams and foundations on the top. Now, below that, there are two drawers that are part of a three level 'chest' of drawers that are not attached to the top part, where I've kept my brushes etc. In the two top drawers I keep lip products (balms, glosses and sticks), below that in a wide drawer I keep my cheek and face products (blushes, contours, bronzers) and then in the draw below I keep some eye palettes and mascaras. I think as my collection grows, I will have to get some more drawers but I'm really happy with this, at the moment.
