When in doubt Clinique it out!

A few weeks ago i marched into Boots, determined to get my hands on the Clinique 'Take The Day Off' Cleansing Balm and to my horror they were sold out yet again, and this is in a huge Boots in a shopping centre. So i tried the Boots near by, they didn't have any and neither did John Lewis. Thankfully i decided to check in Debenhams and low and behold they had one left!


As you can see i also got the Cleansing Milk from the same range, this was firstly because i was just looking to try a new cleanser so i thought i could get both and use them simultaneously and decide which one i preferred and secondly because the sales assistant told me about their 'free gift' when you buy two Clinique products. In retrospect i really shouldn't have bought another cleanser but i guess it was more of an impulse buy.
Anyway, i do like to use a milk and then a balm cleanser when i cleanse my face, although with these products you could just use one of them to double cleanser and i think they are both great.
The cleansing milk has quite a sweet smell but the texture is lovely and creamy. i usually use two pumps and rub it thoroughly into my skin and then i use a warm muslin cloth or flannel and wash it off. i have heard some reviews that say this cleanser stings your eyes and this has happened to me once with this but in it's defence it was when i was at a friends and i had forgotten my muslin cloth, so i just had to rinse it off and wipe it off with hot water and my hands. People have also said that it didn't take their make up off but i think maybe they didn't double cleanse or perhaps they didn't rub it in enough as it works really well for me. It suits all skin types and leaves your skin feeling really soft.
Now, on to the Balm. i love, love, love this cleanser! It is unscented, it only has a handful of ingredients and it lasts for ages. Again, i use this (after my milk cleanser) to rub into my skin and then i wash off with a hot muslin cloth. The texture is a bit like lard or coconut oil but this cleanser is for all skin types, just make sure you wash it off thoroughly.
These products are really helping me combat the cold, winter winds; even though my skin type is normal in the winter i do get some dry patches, so these really help to smooth them out and comfort my skin.
